Redirect target

This page was about the venue for coin-operated devices, usually for entertainment from its creation on 27 January 2005 until that material was merged with Amusement arcade on 3 July 2011 and it became a section redirect to Amusement arcade#Penny arcade, where it has pointed for all but a few days of the subsequent four years, until 7 September 2015 when it was redirected to Penny Arcade which is about the webcomic.

The webcomic page had been at Penny Arcade (webcomic) until it was moved to Penny Arcade on 7 July 2013‎ . There was some talk about where the Penny arcade redirect should point during the move discussion, but that side discussion did not reach a consensus.

There are currently 35 mainspace articles (from Ålandsparken to Wookey Hole Caves) which explicitly use this Penny arcade redirect, and all of them refer to the entertainment venue (and thus their target has been incorrect since the change in September). This is a natural usage, and I feel it is the strongest reason for retaining the long standing Penny arcade -> Amusement arcade#Penny arcade. If consensus is reached at some point for Penny arcade -> Penny Arcade, then those links will need to be changed to piped links, and we should periodically check for new ones.

The only disadvantage of Penny arcade -> Amusement arcade#Penny arcade is that those seeking the article on the webcomic via an uncapitalized "penny arcade" in the search tool will be taken to Amusement arcade#Penny arcade, but that section does have hatnotes for both Penny Arcade and Penny Arcade (disambiguation).

So I have restored the longstanding Penny arcade -> Amusement arcade#Penny arcade, but am happy to discuss other options. -- ToE 13:35, 30 January 2016 (UTC)
